RIO Cycling Club Rides

Riders should have some riding experience and be in good physical condition. The current Club format is road-bike based.  Bicycles should be in good mechanical condition, and riders should be adequately prepared with extra tubes, tools, a pump, water and food.  Helmets are mandatory and any type of mp3 or personal stereos are not allowed.

Ride Details Saturday - Meet at 8am/ Ride leaves at 8:30am sharp. Meet at Cycle Cave, 5716 Menaul Blvd NE, at 8am for Danish & Coffee hosted by Cycle Cave. This will also allow riders to get what they might need for their bikes, maybe minor adjustments, tubes, pumps, air cartridges, etc. The minimum distance a rider should be able to ride is 25 miles at around a 15mph pace, faster riders need to be flexible because NO RIDER GETS DROPPED.

So You Want to Ride

Ride lengths, destinations and routes are decided at the meeting place at the start of each ride and are based on the number and abilities of the riders who show up, weather conditions, and time constraints. In general, the more riders who show up for a ride, the more flexibility there is to have a ride that will meet everyone’s needs – so come out and ride!!!  And, there is one rule on the Saturday rides – NO ONE GETS DROPPED!  On Sunday, be prepared to hang on and ride hard!!!
